Handguards

The factory forend on a Rossi Brawler or a CVA Scout gives you a place to hold the gun and nowhere to mount anything. Our drop-in Nylon-12 handguards go on in its place at the factory mounting, reuse the factory screws and add M-LOK slots on both sides plus a mount on the bottom, with no drilling. The factory forend goes back on whenever you want it.

Each handguard fits one platform, so start with the gun you own. The Rossi Brawler handguards fit the Brawler in 5.56 and 300 Blackout and come with a Picatinny, M-LOK or ARCA bottom. The CVA Scout Handguard (ARCA) fits the CVA Scout pistol and Scout rifle, with an ARCA rail on the bottom, one M-LOK slot in that rail and three M-LOK slots per side.

The Guide

Pick Your Gun

These handguards are built for one gun each, so the platform you own narrows the choice before anything else. The Rossi versions won't fit the Scout, and the CVA version won't fit the Brawler. If your Brawler is in another chambering, or you aren't sure your Scout will fit, contact us before you order and we'll tell you what we know.

  • Rossi Brawler in 5.56 and 300 Blackout: Rossi Brawler Handguard (Picatinny), (M-LOK) or (ARCA)
  • CVA Scout pistol and Scout rifle: CVA Scout Handguard (ARCA)

Then Pick the Mount

On the Brawler, the bottom mount is the main choice. Choose Picatinny if you already run clamp-on Picatinny lights, lasers or hand stops, M-LOK for the lightest front end, or ARCA if you plan to shoot off a tripod. The Picatinny version is 3.45 in. (87.6 mm) long and the M-LOK version 3.25 in. (82.6 mm), both with two M-LOK slots per side, and the ARCA version is 5.25 in. (133 mm) with three per side. On a CVA Scout, choose the CVA Scout Handguard (ARCA), which comes in one version: an ARCA rail with one M-LOK slot in it on the bottom, three M-LOK slots per side and 9 in. (229 mm) long.

  • Picatinny: 2 in. (51 mm) rail for clamp-on accessories, 3.4 oz (95 g)
  • M-LOK: one bottom slot for one-slot M-LOK accessories, 2.15 oz (61 g)
  • Rossi ARCA: tripod and ARCA bipod clamps plus one M-LOK slot, 2.8 oz (80 g)
  • CVA Scout ARCA: tripod and ARCA bipod clamps plus one M-LOK slot, 4.8 oz (135 g)

Field manual

Which handguard fits my gun?

The three Rossi Brawler handguards fit the Rossi Brawler in 5.56 and 300 Blackout. The CVA Scout Handguard (ARCA) fits the CVA Scout pistol and Scout rifle. The Rossi versions won't fit the Scout, and the CVA version won't fit the Brawler. If your Brawler is in another chambering, or you're not sure your Scout will fit, contact us with your model before you order and we'll tell you what we know.

What is an ARCA rail, and do I need one?

ARCA is a dovetail rail standard for tripod clamps and quick-releases. The rail on the Rossi ARCA and CVA Scout handguards is ARCA-Swiss compatible, so it slides into a standard ARCA clamp and locks when you tighten it, with no plate or adapter in between. If you don't plan to shoot off a tripod or an ARCA bipod, you don't need one, and a Picatinny or M-LOK bottom on the Brawler will serve you better.

What hardware is included?

No hardware is included, because none is needed. Each handguard goes on in place of the factory forend, at the factory mounting, using the factory screws. There's no drilling, cutting or fitting, and the factory forend goes back on the same way the handguard came off. Your accessories mount with the hardware they come with.

What can I mount on them?

The side M-LOK slots take standard M-LOK accessories such as a light, a sling mount or a hand stop. The bottom depends on the version: clamp-on Picatinny accessories on the Picatinny rail, a one-slot M-LOK accessory on the M-LOK version, or a tripod or bipod clamp on an ARCA rail, which also has one M-LOK slot for a one-slot accessory when no clamp is on it. Tighten each accessory to its maker's spec and plan your layout around your support hand.

What are they made of, and what's the warranty?

All four handguards are made from Nylon-12, which doesn't rust and needs no finish touched up after a wet day in the field. Each one is made in Coopersville, Michigan, and covered by our Limited Lifetime warranty. If something isn't right with your handguard, contact us about a warranty claim.
